Subscribing to “Search Done Right”
If you use an RSS reader, there are two different feeds you might want to subscribe to that will keep you up-to-date with everything on the “Search Done Right” blog:
- Entries RSS Feed — updated whenever a new entry is published
- Comments RSS Feed — updated whenever a visitor makes a new comment
- What is RSS?
- It might stand for Rich Media Syndication, or perhaps Really Simple Syndication—both are equally true, since both were made up after the acronym. As for what it is, RSS is a special XML format that can be read by RSS feed aggregators and news readers, so that you can receive instant notification of new items of interest to you.
- How do I use these feeds?
- If you use a browser like Firefox or Safari, you may have an option to create “Live Bookmarks” from RSS links like those provided above. If you have a different RSS aggregator or news reader, you may instead need to copy the URL (right click on the link for the option to copy the URL or address the link points to), and put it into your client. The software you use will have more information.
- Is this something I need some kind of fancy software to use?
- Unfortunately, yes. The good news is that there are a number of free RSS readers available for download; try using Clusty to find one that suits you.
